BILD No. 2 Winter

The seasons came and went—summer, fall, winter—and then spring arrived once again, bringing a sense of renewal. Just before Christmas, Helena Lund Ek, Astrid Kajsa Nylander, and I gathered in my studio in Örnsberg, where we wrote a manifesto about painting. We left it unfinished, just lying around.

During the summer, I reached out to Henrik Eriksson to ask his thoughts on the season and his recent work. He responded with a text and some documantation of his paintings. He mentioned he'd been reflecting on Alfred Bohman’s work and thought it would fit well. I asked him to invite Alfred to join us.

In the fall, I came across a painter from Gothenburg, Karin Ström, who captured sunsets in the shape of an "i"—a simple yet striking symbol. Though her work extends beyond this, those particular paintings felt raw and vivid, reaching beyond the canvas towards life itself.

And so, all the seasons came together in this way, and perhaps that's how it should be. Maybe that’s just the way things are.
